Volunteer Weekend

All volunteers are required to attend Volunteer Weekend where they learn about the Baltimore County Volunteer Firefighter's Association, the Baltimore County Fire Department, and how they work together to serve the citizens in and around Baltimore County. Volunteer Weekend is a 2 day weekend where participants are given pre-course work, are certified in AHA CPR, and are certified in Hazardous Materials Awareness. The final day is the following Saturday where students come to take their test. In order to attend Volunteer Weekend, applicants must have completed the following:

  • Be a member of a Baltimore County Volunteer Fire Station

  • Apply for and receive a FEMA SID number

  • Complete FEMA ICS 100200, and 700

  • Obtain Baltimore County Medical Clearance

    • Entry​

    • Non-entry

  • ​Successfully complete assigned Volunteer Weekend pre-course work​.

  • Successfully pass written tests for all of the above credentialed classes
