LODD of Captain William "Luto" Lutostanski Jr.

It is with great sadness that we announce the Line of Duty Death of Retired Fire Captain William “Luto” Lutostanski Jr. on February 17, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Captain Lutostanski proudly served Baltimore County for 26 years. Throughout his distinguished career, he rose through the ranks from EMT/Firefighter to Fire Captain. He retired on February 5, 2026, concluding more than two decades of honorable service to the Baltimore County Fire Department.

His leadership, dedication, and commitment to service leave a lasting legacy on our department and the community he faithfully protected.

We extend our condolences to the Lutostanski family, and the many members of our department who knew and worked with him. Please keep them and each other in your thoughts during this difficult time.
