All volunteers are required to attend Volunteer Orientation where they learn about the Baltimore County Volunteer Firefighter's Association, the Baltimore County Fire Department, and how they work together to serve the citizens in and around Baltimore County. Volunteer Orientation is a 1 day class in which they will learn about the fire department and how it works in Baltimore County and receive their AHA CPR certification. In order to attend Volunteer Weekend, applicants must have completed the following:

• Be a member of a Baltimore County Volunteer Fire Station

• Apply for and receive a FEMA SID number

• Complete FEMA ICS 100, 200, and 700​

• Obtain Baltimore County Medical Clearance
